A SAHA Partner, Michael has over 20 years of experience as a consultant, business and policy advisor.  He specialises in providing economic, regulatory and commercial advice to utilities, principally in the energy and water sectors.  Michael is extremely successful in helping clients tackle difficult issues and ensuring a solution and approach is effectively implemented (including managing all stakeholders).  Over the years he has been involved in numerous assignments, that have centred typically around: market and business reform, ring-fencing, business acquisitions, restructuring, regulation, tariff and pricing, contractual arrangements, and strategic and business development and planning.  Assignments have been undertaken in New Zealand, Australia and Namibia.

Prior to joining Saha International, Michael was a Principal in the Asia Pacific Energy & Utilities division of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (and its predecessor, Ernst & Young). His employment experience also includes, working for NZ Treasury, for Telecom New Zealand, and as an advisor to the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
