Deb Chattopadhyay
Deb is a Director in the Energy & Resource Advisory practice. Deb specialises in energy market design and modelling to address market operation, planning and policy issues.
He has worked on a number of consulting and research projects since 1990 for a range of clients including private investors, banks, regulatory bodies, transmission companies and electricity generators. Deb has designed and developed energy modelling analysis tools that have been used throughout the Asia Pacific region. Deb has led the modelling team of CRA International Asia Pacific for nearly seven years between 2001 and early 2008 and had continued to work for Concept Economics, formerly CRA’s Competition Practice, before joining SAHA in March 2009. He has taught Management Science at the University of Canterbury between 1997 and 2000.
Deb has contributed to the academic literature on energy economics and has published extensively in reputed journals such as the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. He has worked in India, USA, New Zealand and currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
